Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 87 people in a special anti-crime drive conducted across different parts of the capital.
The day-long operation was carried out on Sunday, by different units of the DMP.
Among those arrested were one alleged extortionist not listed in official records, 37 people accused of offences related to terrorism, robbery, mugging and dacoity, and 49 alleged drug traders.
The DMP said it would continue such special drives to maintain public safety and ensure normal law and order in the capital.
Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway.
