Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 24 people during special drives conducted in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Mugda areas of the capital on Thursday.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Friday and signed by DC Niaz Mehedi of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Department.
According to the release, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police conducted raids at several crime-prone locations within its jurisdiction on 9 July and arrested seven individuals.
In separate operations over the same 24-hour period, Mugda Police arrested another 17 people from different areas under its jurisdiction.
DMP said those arrested include individuals named in regular criminal cases, people with active arrest warrants and others allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
Police said legal procedures against the arrested individuals are underway.
