Dhaka Bank PLC and Robi Axiata PLC have launched co-branded Visa credit cards for Robi Elite customers, aiming to expand digital banking access and enhance cross-border payment and roaming benefits for travellers.
The cards were launched on 19 January in Dhaka in collaboration with Visa Bangladesh, bringing together a private commercial bank, a leading mobile operator and a global payments network.
Dhaka Bank Managing Director Osman Ershad Faiz said the initiative aligns with the bank’s focus on technology-driven services and digital inclusion.
“Dhaka Bank, as always, is very interested in offering tech-based services and in continuation of that joined hands with Robi and VISA to launch these co-branded credit cards,” he said.
Robi Axiata CEO and Managing Director Ziad Shatara said the cards are designed to deliver a global customer experience, particularly for those travelling abroad.
“Robi is bringing co-branded credit cards that will provide a true global experience with benefits and rewards beyond borders,” he said.
He added that the cards integrate international roaming services to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
“Through international roaming, our customers will enjoy seamless connectivity. As we establish the best network within Bangladesh,” Shatara said, noting that the offering would be particularly useful ahead of the Eid and Hajj season.
Visa Bangladesh Country Manager Sabbir Ahmed said the partnership would strengthen digital payments and travel-related benefits.
“VISA is pleased to strengthen its collaboration with Dhaka Bank and Robi with the launch of these new credit cards,” he said, adding that the cards offer priority services, lounge access, Elite status benefits and special discounts on Hajj and Umrah packages during Ramadan.
