Dhaka Bank PLC marked International Women’s Day with a two-day programme and launched a women-focused savings product aimed at high-net-worth female clients.

The programme was held at the bank’s head office on 5 and 8 March and included workshops, a women entrepreneurs’ fair, a panel discussion, and the unveiling of the new product, according to a press release.

The bank introduced “Empower – A Product of Dhaka Bank Aroni”, a premium savings account designed for women clients to promote financial inclusion and economic participation.

Dhaka Bank PLC Managing Director and CEO Osman Ershad Faiz moderated the panel discussion on women’s empowerment and leadership in Bangladesh’s socio-economic development.

The discussion featured Sajida Foundation CEO Zahida Fizza Kabir, Dhaka Bank PLC Chief Legal Officer Barrister Farzana Ahmed and Bangladesh Women’s National Football Team former captain Sabina Khatun.

Dhaka Bank PLC Additional Managing Director AKM Shahnawaj, Deputy Managing Directors AMM Moyen Uddin, Md Mostaque Ahmed and Sheikh Abdul Bakir and Head of HRD M Rezaur Rahman attended the event.

A healthcare programme was organised in collaboration with BRAC Healthcare, offering free doctor consultations and basic health screenings for women participants.

Evercare Hospital Dhaka Senior Counsellor Alya Fardous Azad conducted a session on mid-career crisis management, while a day-long entrepreneurship fair showcased products from women entrepreneurs including apparel, accessories and food items.
