Bangladesh recorded one more death from dengue and 350 new hospitalisations across the country in the last 24 hours. Out of the new patients, 97 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka, while the remaining 253 were hospitalised outside the capital.
According to the latest data from the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the highest number of new cases was reported in Dhaka with 128 admissions (including 97 within the capital), followed by 95 in Barishal and 70 in Khulna.
Additionally, 31 new patients were hospitalised in Chattogram, 17 in Mymensingh, four each in Rajshahi and Sylhet, and one in Rangpur.
The person who died within the last 24 hours was undergoing treatment at a hospital under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). Currently, a total of 728 dengue patients are receiving treatment at various government and private hospitals throughout the country.
Since 1 January until 12 July 2026, the total number of dengue cases in the country has reached 8,323. Of the total infected, 7,570 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery.
The total death toll for this year now stands at 25. Statistics show that Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of fatalities at 11, followed by Mymensingh Division with five deaths.
