Three people died of dengue and 805 others were hospitalised with the disease in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest deaths have taken this year’s dengue toll to 70, while the number of hospitalisations has reached 23,978, data from the DGHS Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room showed on Sunday.
Of the newly hospitalised patients, 401 were in Dhaka division, 97 in Khulna, 82 in Chattogram, 80 in Barishal, 65 in Mymensingh, seven in Rangpur and two in Sylhet.
So far this year, 22,159 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Currently, 1,749 patients are undergoing treatment across the country, according to the DGHS.
Official data show that Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths in 2025.
In 2024, 101,214 people were hospitalised with dengue and 575 died.
The disease hit the country hardest in 2023, when 321,179 patients were hospitalised and 1,705 people died, according to the DGHS.
