Admission tests for the 2025–26 academic session at Chittagong University (CU) began Friday, with thousands of candidates and their guardians arriving at examination centres amid intense competition.
A total of 233,327 applicants are vying for 4,165 seats, meaning an average of 56 candidates are competing for each seat.
The tests commenced with the “A” unit examination, which started at 11:30am.
University authorities said admission tests for all units would run from 11:30am to 12:30pm, while candidates were required to enter the examination centres by 10:30am.
Tight security measures have been taken centring the admission tests. The administration said a total of 637 security personnel, including 220 police members, have been deployed to maintain law and order inside and outside the campus.
