Nominations of three candidates in the Chattogram‑7 (Raozan) constituency have been cancelled.
The candidates are Md Abdur Rahman of Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, Md Belal Uddin of Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Promod Baron Barua of the Communist Party of Bangladesh.
Their nominations were declared invalid around 11am on Saturday following the scrutiny process at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Chattogram.
The verification was conducted by Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah and Senior District Election Officer Mohammad Bashir Ahmed.
Additionally, six candidates were declared valid. They are Humam Quader Chowdhury of BNP, ATM Rezaul Karim of Jamaat‑e‑Islami, Md Mehedi Rased of Jatiya Party, Muhammad Iqbal Hasan of Bangladesh Islami Front, Abdullah Al Harun of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, and Md Abul Kalam of Khelafat Majlis.
In the constituency, 11 individuals collected nomination papers, of whom nine submitted them.
