A Dhaka court has ordered the authorities to provide the income tax records of former Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) chairman Belayet Hossain and his family members.
The order came after the Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a petition seeking certified copies of the records.
ACC Deputy Assistant Director Rubel Hossain submitted the petition, which was argued by prosecutor Ishtiaq Ahmed.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Sabbir Faiz issued the order, said Court Bench Assistant Md Riaz Hossain.
Belayet’s family members named in the petition are his wife Farhana Hossain, daughters Rahat Ara Riti and Shamim Ara Nitu, and son Adnan Hossain Nipu.
The petition stated that it is necessary to examine Belayet Hossain’s income and expenditure details, verify their accuracy, and check for any undisclosed assets. For this purpose, tax records filed from the beginning up to the 2025‑26 fiscal year must be reviewed.
