BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has said that defeated forces are still conspiring to obstruct the ongoing democratic transition in Bangladesh.
He said that these conspiracies would be resisted at any cost and, with the support of the people, a discrimination-free and well-governed state would be built.
He made the remarks on Thursday while speaking to journalists at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on the occasion of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman’s return to the country after a long 17 years.
Referring to the recent bomb explosion on the Moghbazar flyover, Salahuddin Ahmed said, “Fascist forces and their domestic and foreign accomplices are still active. They have chosen the path of sabotage to derail the current democratic environment and the upcoming election. The loss of life in the Moghbazar attack is proof of that. But we are alert; their sinister plans will never be allowed to succeed.”
He added that those who seek to block the country’s progress through violence and undemocratic means would be collectively resisted.
