BNP leaders welcomed acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his family members at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft carrying Tarique, his wife, Zubaida Rahman, and their daughter, Zaima Rahman, landed at 11:41am.
Their relatives were also present. Zubaida’s mother welcomed Tarique Rahman with a garland of flowers.
BNP senior leaders, including its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, greeted Tarique and his family members at the airport. Fakhrul, along with the party’s standing committee members, entered the airport’s VIP lounge with senior leaders around 10am.
Standing Committee members Salahuddin Ahmed, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, and Abdul Moyeen Khan, along with BNP Media Cell Convener Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, were present.
A Biman flight carrying Tarique Rahman, his wife, and their daughter landed at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet at 9:58am.
After about one hour of ground turnaround in Sylhet, the aircraft departed for Dhaka around 11am. Tarique left London’s Heathrow Airport for Dhaka with his family at 6:36pm. local time on Wednesday, which was 12:36am. Bangladesh time on Thursday.
He traveled on flight BG‑202, operated by a Boeing Dreamliner 787‑9, on the London Heathrow–Sylhet–Dhaka route.
