Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Pension Authority to facilitate digital collection of contributions for the government’s universal pension schemes, expanding payment channels and convenience for participants, the bank said.

The agreement was signed in Dhaka on Monday, 26 January 2026, by Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat and National Pension Authority Executive Chairman Md Mohiuddin Khan on behalf of their respective organisations. Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar presided over the ceremony.

Under the agreement, monthly contributions to the universal pension schemes — Probas, Pragati, Surakkha and Samata, which are designed for expatriates, private sector employees, self-employed individuals and low-income groups respectively — can now be paid through all branches and sub-branches of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC.

The initiative is expected to enhance accessibility and ease of participation in the pension schemes by enabling contributors to make payments through the bank’s nationwide network.

Senior officials from both organisations attended the signing event, where the new arrangement was hailed as a step toward making pension contribution processes more seamless and inclusive.
