Community Bank Bangladesh PLC and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday to strengthen financial and banking support for the country’s information and communication technology (ICT) entrepreneurs and startups.
The agreement was signed at the BASIS boardroom, the bank said in a press release.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will jointly introduce tailored financial solutions for ICT entrepreneurs, aiming to improve access to banking services and support sector growth.
The partnership will also focus on skills development, regulatory compliance training and market access initiatives, alongside plans to establish an ICT Export Accelerator to help local enterprises connect with global markets through secure and efficient payment solutions.
Among others, Community Bank Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat, Head of Agent Banking, Foreign Remittance, Transaction Banking and Strategic Business Unit SK Perves Maraker, Head of SME Hossain-Al-Safeer Chowdhury, Head of Cards Zahir Ahmed, Head of ADC and Head of MD’s Coordination Team Md Mamun ur Rahman, and Manager of Agent Banking Division Md Al Amin Sumon were present.
From BASIS, Local Government Division Joint Secretary and BASIS Administrator Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan attended the event, alongside Associate Committee Members Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, Mushfiqur Rahman, Md Rowshan Kamal James, A H M Rokmunur Zaman Rony, Mohammad Abdul Majid, Md Jewel, Ferdosh Alam and Syeed Zahid Hossain.
