The death toll from Monday’s 7.4-magnitude earthquake in Colombia has risen to 281, while 379 people remain missing, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management said on Thursday.
The disaster has also injured 3,971 people and affected 44,936 families, or 102,105 people, across 15 departments and 426 municipalities, the agency said, reports Xinhua.
It added that 10,677 homes had been destroyed and another 65,841 damaged in the earthquake.
According to the Colombian Geological Service, the quake struck western Colombia at 7:34am local time (12:34 GMT) on Monday. Its epicentre was near San Jose del Palmar in the department of Choco, at a depth of 96 kilometres.
