The Bangladesh Coast Guard organized a training workshop and public awareness event focused on environmental and forest protection, as well as forest animal conservation, under the banner of “Youth Festival 2025” in Chittagong. The event took place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 10 am to 12 noon, at the Bangladesh Navy Anchorage School and College.
According to Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq, the Coast Guard has been actively involved in various disaster relief operations since its establishment. This includes distributing relief materials, providing emergency medical services, and rehabilitating people affected by disasters in coastal and riverine regions. Additionally, the Coast Guard has been conducting a variety of public awareness initiatives aimed at conserving the environment, protecting forests, and safeguarding wildlife.
The workshop, held in collaboration with the Forest Department Chittagong, saw participation from teachers and students from local schools and colleges. The program included comprehensive discussions on environmental protection, forest conservation, and the protection of forest animals.
Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq emphasised the Coast Guard’s ongoing commitment to public awareness activities in these areas, affirming that such initiatives would continue in the future to promote environmental and forest conservation.
