The central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has temporarily relieved two leaders of its Dhaka University unit from their organisational posts over allegations of breaching party discipline.
The organisation announced the decision in two separate press releases on Wednesday evening.
According to the statements, Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim, convener of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall unit at DU and Md Mahdijjaman Jyoti, member secretary of the Sir A F Rahman Hall unit, have been temporarily removed from their respective positions.
Chhatra Dal central president Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir signed both press releases.
The statements said the decision would remain effective until further notice.
After the announcement, Tanvir Bari Hamim reacted in a post on his personal Facebook profile. He wrote that he had engaged in Chhatra Dal politics from Class 6 in 2012 through his college life until 2017 without holding any position.
He added that he had learned about his temporary removal as convener of Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall unit by central president Rakibul Islam Rakib and general secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.
“I am a worker of this party. This identity alone fills me with immense pride, Alhamdulillah,” he wrote.
