Chhatra Dal announces daylong programme on New Year’s Day

BNP’s student wing, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, has announced a daylong programme on the occasion of its 47th founding anniversary on 1 January.

Details of the programme were revealed in a press release sent to the media on Sunday by Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir,

To begin, at 9am on New Year’s Day, the national flag will be hoisted at the Chhatra Dal central parliament office and all district and metropolitan unit offices across the country. Later, at 11am, wreaths will be placed at the grave of late president Ziaur Rahman (Bir Uttam) along with prayers (fatiha) and a munajat.

A blood donation drive will be organised in front of BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan, Dhaka, at 12pm. Afterwards, at around 2pm, a discussion meeting will be organised at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB, Farmgate) in the capital.

Central leaders, including members of the party’s standing committee, will attend and speak at the discussion meeting.

Additionally, colourful rallies will be held at all universities, districts, metropolitans, and all educational institutions across the country.

At the same time, BNP leaders and activists from their respective areas will visit the graves of all Chhatra Dal martyrs and meet with the families of leaders and activists who have been victims of enforced disappearances, murder, or have been injured.
