The official poster of ‘Cha Gorom’ was unveiled on Sunday, March 5, offering a glimpse into a story rooted in the world of tea gardens.
Director Shankha Dasgupta confirmed that the film explores the everyday lives, rights and living conditions of tea garden workers.
Known for his layered storytelling in projects such as ‘Guti’ and ‘Priyo Maloti’, Shankha Dasgupta said he wanted to move beyond the conventional portrayal of tea estates as merely scenic backdrops.
“Tea gardens are often used for their beauty in films. I felt it was important to go beyond that and look at the lives within them,” he said. “This time, we tried to step inside and understand the experiences of the workers, not just capture the landscape.”
Cha Gorom is set to premiere on Chorki on April 14, coinciding with Pohela Boishakh. The film stars Safa Kabir, Partho Sheikh, Rezwan Pervez and Sarah Jabin Aditi.
The story is written by AK Azad Setu, with screenplay by Saifullah Riyad.
