A month-long entrepreneurship training ended on Wednesday at CO Tower in Jhenaidah, with the joint initiative of Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC aimed at boosting small-businesses and financial inclusion.
The training, held under the finance ministry’s Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation programme financed by the Asian Development Bank, awarded certificates, crests and honorariums to 25 participants, including 15 women.
Organisers said the programme sought to equip new and existing entrepreneurs with basic business skills, operational competencies and a pathway into the formal banking system.
Jamuna Bank Vice President and Khulna Zonal Head Mohammad Kabir Hossain presided over the closing ceremony, while Bangladesh Bank Joint Director Mohammad Wasim attended as chief guest.
Other senior officials from both institutions, alongside local entrepreneurs, were also present.
Special guests included Jamuna Bank’s SME marketing head NHM Nusrat and CO NGO executive director Md Shamsul Alam. The event was conducted by Md Atiar Rahman, manager of the bank’s Jhenaidah branch.
Officials said they expect the initiative to help expand entrepreneurial capacity at the grassroots and support broader financial-sector goals, including SME growth and access to formal credit.
