Commercial Bank of Ceylon (CBC) has officially launched its dedicated Shariah-compliant Islamic Banking service, “Al Adalah,” in Bangladesh, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its corporate branch followed by a grand event at Sheraton Dhaka on 23 August, said a press release on Saturday.
Deputy Chairman Raja Senanayake, Global Managing Director Sanath Manatunge and CBC Bangladesh Operations Chief Executive Officer Tivanka Damunopola attended the launch.
The leadership team emphasised the bank’s long-term commitment to Bangladesh, highlighting how Al Adalah integrates global financial expertise with local values and ethical banking practices.
The event featured a panel discussion titled “From Compliance to Confidence: Trust and Stability in Islamic Banking,” attended by industry experts, academicians and senior representatives from Bangladesh Bank.
