Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman has said that bureaucracy remains the biggest barrier to achieving reform.
He also said that after the reform commissions submitted their reports, bureaucrats prioritised less significant recommendations over key proposals that could have been implemented immediately.
Iftekharuzzaman made the remarks while addressing a discussion titled “Situation of Media After Authoritarianism” organised by the TIB on Tuesday.
At the event, four reporters from print and television channels were honoured for their investigative reporting.
