Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
In a congratulatory message, the vice-chancellor described him as a wise, gracious and visionary statesman who has earned the trust and respect of the people through his long political career, sacrifice, integrity and patriotism, reads a press release.
He expressed hope that President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, with his wisdom and experience, will play a significant role in advancing Bangladesh as a developed and dignified nation.
He also hoped that higher education, research and innovation at the country’s universities would gain new momentum under his leadership.
The BOU vice-chancellor wished the newly elected president good health, long life and a successful tenure.
