Young Bangladeshi pacer Rohanat Doullah Borson produced a brilliant spell against South Africa Emerging Team, claiming five wickets to restrict the hosts to 169 runs in the sixth match of the tri-series.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first, handing Borson the new ball. He struggled for rhythm in his opening over, conceding eight runs and bowling a no-ball. However, he quickly found his rhythm and began troubling the South African batters.
Borson struck in his third over, removing Richard Seletswan with a sharp delivery that crashed into the stumps. Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan had earlier claimed the first wicket, but Borson soon took control of the Bangladesh bowling attack.
The young pacer maintained a disciplined line and length throughout his spell, giving the South African batters little room to score freely. Four of his five wickets came through bowled dismissals as the Proteas batters struggled to deal with his pace and movement.
Borson finished with impressive figures of 5 for 24 from eight overs at an economy rate of 3.00. His spell played a key role in restricting South Africa Emerging Team to a modest total.
Leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob also contributed with two wickets as Bangladesh’s bowlers kept the South African side under pressure throughout the innings.
