BNP has secured five parliamentary seats in Dinajpur, while an independent candidate bagged the remaining constituency in results.

District Returning Officer (RO) and Deputy Commissioner Rafiqul Islam declared the results around 1:30am on Friday.

According to the results, BNP Monjurul Islam won with 179,314 votes from all 129 polling centres in Dinajpur-1. His rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Motiur Rahman received 117,481 votes.

In Dinajpur-2, BNP’s Sadik Riaz Chowdhury secured 139,622 votes from 116 centres, while Jamaat’s AKM Afzalul Anam trailed with 104,887 votes.

In Dinajpur-3, BNP candidate Syed Jahangir Alam triumphed with 140,608 votes from all 131 centres, defeating Jamaat leader Mainul Alam, who gained 136,239 votes.

Additionally, Dinajpur-4 saw BNP candidate Akhteruzzaman Mia secure 166,717 votes from 131 centres to claim victory against Jamaat’s Aftab Uddin Molla, who received 129,056 votes.

In Dinajpur-5, independent candidate AZM Rezwanul Haque won with 114,484 votes from 142 centres. He defeated NCP leader Abdul Ahad, who bagged 110,195 votes, and BNP leader AKM Kamruzzaman, who obtained 98,544 votes.

Finally, in Dinajpur-6, BNP’s AZM Zahid Hossain secured 205,118 votes from all 200 centres, while Jamaat candidate Anwarul Islam followed with 190,703 votes.
