The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has launched BanglaBiz, a unified digital platform aimed at providing faster and more efficient services to investors.
BanglaBiz consolidates information and services from multiple portals into one central hub. It connects the One Stop Service (OSS) portals of five major Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) — BIDA, Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), Bangladesh Hi Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), and Bangladesh Small & Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) — under a single digital interface, BIDA said in a statement on Sunday.
Investors can also access the Public Private Partnership Authority’s website through the BanglaBiz homepage.
The platform was developed after approval from the BIDA Governing Body, chaired by the Honorable Chief Adviser, in April 2025. Financial and technical assistance for the project was provided by JICA.
BanglaBiz features a centralized landing page offering essential information about investment services, including links to IPA OSS portals, FAQs, and contact details.
The “How to Apply” tool guides investors to the relevant IPA based on their business type and sector, while the management dashboard allows government officials to monitor service performance and investment trends across IPAs.
Tomohide Ichiguchi, Chief Representative of JICA Bangladesh Office, emphasized that digital transformation is not just a technological shift but a strategic imperative for inclusive development.
“BanglaBiz reflects our commitment to co-creating solutions that empower investors and strengthen institutional capacity,” he said.
BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury highlighted that the need for a unified investor portal had long been expressed by local and foreign businesses.
He explained that BanglaBiz is designed as a single digital entry point for anyone looking to invest in Bangladesh, aiming to enhance competition among service providers and improve service delivery.
While the initial release covers essential features, BanglaBiz is expected to evolve into a fully integrated Investor Single Window Platform (ISWP).
In future phases, high-impact services such as the Business Starter Package will be introduced, involving additional ministries and agencies.
The digitalization of work permit and security clearance processes and the introduction of BanglaBiz ID (BBID) will further enhance the platform’s interoperability across government systems.
BanglaBiz aligns with JICA’s broader mission to support inclusive economic growth, attract quality investment, and modernize public service delivery in Bangladesh.
