On Saturday afternoon, following a meeting of the national teams committee, BFF senior vice-president Imrul Hasan laid out how Bangladesh will distribute its ticket allocation for the 2026 tournament. As a non-playing member nation, Bangladesh has received 330 tickets in total.
“We do not have the opportunity to receive more than 330 tickets,” Hasan said. “Applications will be accepted from tomorrow until January 22. Applicants will need to purchase the application form for Tk 500 and deposit the price of their selected tickets.”
The federation has opened applications to six groups: BFF executive committee members, officials from affiliated bodies, sponsors, football supporters, current and former national team players, and sports journalists. Each applicant can apply for up to two tickets. If demand exceeds supply, a BFF-appointed committee will decide how the tickets are allocated.
BFF has also been keen to underline the conditions attached. Payments must be made directly to a designated BFF account at UCB Bank’s Principal Branch in Motijheel. Receiving a ticket does not guarantee travel, with the federation stressing that it will not take responsibility for visa approvals or rejections. Tickets cannot be transferred or used for commercial purposes, and unsuccessful applicants will be refunded via bank transfer or cheque.
Unsurprisingly, the biggest draw is expected to be matches involving Argentina and Brazil. Of the 162 tickets reserved for 13 group-stage games, fixtures such as Brazil v Morocco on June 13 and Argentina v Australia on June 22 have each been allocated 20 tickets. Separate quotas have been set aside for the knockout rounds, including the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Only 10 tickets are available to Bangladeshi applicants for the final.
The prices reflect the scale of the event. A Category 3 ticket for the group stage starts at Tk 34,750, while a Category 1 seat for the final costs Tk 1,139,250.
