Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) on Thursday handed over more than 40,000 Dengue NS1 Rapid Diagnostic Test kits in a bid to strengthen the capabilities of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in tackling the country’s current dengue situation.
The dengue testing kits were procured with strategic support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Swiss Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross.
Chairman of BDRCS, Barrister Md Abdus Salam formally presented the dengue testing kits to Director of Non-Communicable Disease Control Professor Halimur Rashid at BDRCS National Headquarters in the capital.
Vice Chairman of BDRCS Professor Md Rafiqul Kabir, Treasurer Abu Md Mofakharul Islam (Rana), Secretary General Dr Kabir M Ashraf Alam, Director of Health Brigadier General Dr SM Humayun Kabir (Retd) and other senior officials from both organisations were present.
