Mustafizur Rahman’s No Objection Certificate for participation in the Pakistan Super League has been revoked, the Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed on Thursday. The BCB also stated that Nahid Rana will not return to the PSL.
According to the board, Mustafizur will undergo an immediate medical scan to evaluate his condition, which also ruled him out of the first two matches against New Zealand. Following the assessment, he will start a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the BCB medical staff.
“In this regard, the Board has withdrawn the No Objection Certificate (NOC) previously issued to Mustafizur. He will therefore not be available to participate in the remainder of PSL 2026,” the statement said.
Mustafizur played five matches for Lahore Qalandars before joining the national team ahead of the New Zealand series. However, he did not feature in the first two matches after feeling discomfort in his right knee during the warm-up of the opening game.
On Thursday, he picked up five wickets in the match that Bangladesh won by 55 runs to clinch the series 2-1.
Mustafizur the left arm pacer was supposed to rejoin the Qalandars, as he was not included in the squad for the T20I series against New Zealand starting on April 27. The BCB said he, along with Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, was rested.
“The BCB would also like to inform that fast bowler Nahid Rana will not be released for PSL 2026. This decision has been taken to allow him adequate time to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan next month,” the statement added.
