Yasir Mohammed Faysal Ashique has stepped down from his position as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday. He had been serving as chairman of the board’s Logistics and Protocol Standing Committee.
Under the BCB constitution, he was nominated as a director by the National Sports Council (NSC) following the last board election.
Speaking over the phone to Times of Bangladesh, he said, “I submitted my resignation letter to the board this morning.”
There is already speculation that more directors could step down from the BCB. When asked whether anyone else had submitted a resignation alongside him, Yasir said, “I have only submitted mine. I am not aware of the others.”
With Yasir’s departure, the number of directors to have resigned from the current board stands at three. Earlier, Amzad Hussain stepped down from his role as director citing personal reasons, after being removed as chairman of the Media Committee. Before that, Ishtiaque Sadeeque who was chairman of game development, also resigned citing personal reasons.
