The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a special exhibition T20 match to mark Independence Day on March 26. Titled “Independence Day Exhibition Cricket Match 2026,” the event will feature former national cricketers divided into Red and Green teams. The match is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
The BCB officially unveiled the squads for both teams on Wednesday. The Red team includes Jahangir Alam, Mehrab Hossain Opi, former captains Mohammad Ashraful and Khaled Mashud Pilot, Nasir Uddin Faruk, Mohammad Rafique, Ehsanul Haque Sejan, Anwar Hossain, Tareq Aziz Khan, Mahbubul Alam Robin, Dollar Mahmud, Elias Sunny, Mushfiqur Rahman Babu and Sajjad Ahmed Shipon.
The Green team features Shahriar Nafees, Javed Omar Belim, Hannan Sarkar, Nadif Chowdhury, Faisal Hossain Dickens, Tushar Imran, Shahriar Hossain Bidyut, Mohammad Selim, Talha Jubair, Anwar Hossain Monir, Abdur Razzak, Hasibul Hossain Shanto, Jamal Uddin Babu and Hasanuzzaman Jhuru.
Former Bangladesh captain and current BCB vice-president Faruque Ahmed has been appointed manager of the Green team, with Wahidul Gani serving as coach. Sarwar Imran will coach the Red team, while Rakibul Hasan has been named as manager.
