British American Tobacco Bangladesh PLC (BAT Bangladesh) has approved a 30 per cent cash dividend for its shareholders for the year 2025.
The approval was granted during the company’s 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was conducted virtually on Thursday. A significant number of shareholders attended the meeting via the company’s dedicated AGM portal.
During the session, shareholders unanimously approved the company’s financial statement for 2025 and the election of its Board of Directors. Furthermore, the appointments of both statutory auditors and corporate governance auditors were ratified by the attendees.
In 2025, BAT Bangladesh remained one of the nation’s highest taxpayers, contributing a total of Tk 39,144 crore to the National Exchequer. This contribution consisted of value-added tax, supplementary duty, and other applicable taxes.
The AGM was presided over by the Chairman of the Board, Wael Sabra. Other key officials in attendance included Managing Director Monisha Abraham, Finance Director Nirala Singh, Commercial Director Numayer Alam, and Company Secretary Syed Afzal Hossain.
The company’s independent directors, Masud Khan, Prof. Dr. Melita Mehjabeen, and Rupali Haque Chowdhury, were also present. They were joined by non-executive directors Dr. Ziaul Abedin, Niranjan Chandra Debnath, Stuart Kidd, and Francisco Toso Canepa.
