Banglalink has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FloSolar Solutions Limited to install a 100 MW solar power plant to supply energy to its telecom network across Bangladesh.
The project underscores Banglalink’s commitment to renewable energy and climate resilience. FloSolar will develop, finance, and operate the solar plant, while Banglalink will purchase the generated power through a long-term Corporate Power Purchase Agreement.
This partnership will power over 15,000 Base Transceiver Station (BTS) sites, data centers, and Special Purchase Vehicles (SPV) with solar energy, aiming to achieve 60 percent renewable energy consumption. The initiative will reduce reliance on fossil fuels and support local communities.
Once operational, the solar plant is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 76,000 tons annually, significantly lowering Banglalink’s carbon footprint.
Huseyin Turker, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Banglalink, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to a sustainable future. Mustafa Azim Kasem Khan, Founder and Managing Director of FloSolar, highlighted the project’s role in advancing Bangladesh’s climate goals and promoting clean energy solutions.
