Banglalink has launched a set of special voice and data packs to ensure uninterrupted communication as the country heads into the 13th national parliamentary election scheduled for Wednesday.
The move comes amid expectations of a surge in calls, online discussions and information sharing nationwide, with many voters travelling long distances to reach their polling stations.
The country’s third-largest mobile operator said it has rolled out time-bound, value-driven data-only and bundled voice-and-data offers to meet varying communication needs during the election period.
Data-only options include 4GB valid for 72 hours at Tk99, 15GB for seven days at Tk199, 20GB for 30 days at Tk498 and 30GB for 30 days at Tk598.
For customers seeking a balance of voice and data, the offers include 15GB with 200 minutes for 30 days at Tk499 and 20GB with 300 minutes for 30 days at Tk619.
Voice-only packs include 300 minutes for 30 days at Tk257 and 500 minutes for 30 days at Tk357, the operator said.
Banglalink said the initiative is aimed at supporting conversations taking place across households, communities and online platforms as people discuss their expectations from the next elected government.
Alongside the new packs, the operator has strengthened its network by adding extra capacity in key and politically active areas, beyond regular operations, to ensure stable voice and data services during peak usage.
Banglalink Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman said staying connected becomes especially important when citizens are engaging in discussions about the country’s future.
He said the focus is on enabling customers to communicate without disruption, share information responsibly and remain connected with confidence as they travel to exercise their voting rights.
Banglalink said the election-time offers and network upgrades reflect its continued emphasis on user-centric care and dependable connectivity across its network during periods of heightened demand.
