In the first ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh’s innings got off to a shaky start after being sent in to bat. The openers fell quickly, with Saif Hassan departing for 3 off 6 balls and Soumya Sarkar for 4 off 6.
Saif was trapped lbw by Romario Shepherd, while Soumya tried to drive through cover point but was caught in the infield off Jayden Seales’ bowling by Roston Chase. Bangladesh were reeling at 8 for 2 in just 2.1 overs.
Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tawhid Hridoy then took charge, trying to steady the innings after the early losses.
After 15 overs, Bangladesh reached 46 for 2, showing some recovery but still under pressure against the West Indies attack.
