Bangladesh Under 19 women claimed a seven wicket victory against Pakistan on Sunday in the third T20 of their five match series at the Cox’s Bazar International Cricket Stadium, successfully chasing a target of 87 to move 2-1 ahead.
Set a modest total, Bangladesh stumbled early as both openers fell with only eight runs on the board. The pressure eased through a composed 45 run partnership between captain Sadia Islam and Jannat Imanta, which realigned the innings after the early setbacks.
Sadia provided the initial impetus, striking 35 from 28 balls with three fours and three sixes before departing with her side well placed at 53 for 3. Her aggression shifted the momentum firmly towards Bangladesh and laid the groundwork for a straightforward finish.
Jannat completed the job with an assured unbeaten 30 from 25 deliveries, hitting three fours and one six as Bangladesh reached the target with seven overs remaining. Pakistan’s bowling effort was led by Mahnoor Zeb and Rozina Akram, who took one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan had struggled after choosing to bat, losing opener Ravael Farhan to the second ball of the innings. Consistent pressure from Habiba Islam Pinky and Atoshi Majumder reduced them to five wickets down before reaching 50. Captain Iman Nasser provided the only meaningful resistance with 23, but her dismissal left the innings without stability.
Pinky and Atoshi finished with two wickets apiece, while Farzana Medha and Zarin Tasnim claimed one each as Bangladesh closed out a dominant performance that leaves them one win away from taking the series.
