Bangladesh and Turkey signed a Memorandum of Understanding on sports cooperation on Tuesday, bringing both governments into a formal framework for youth development, athlete exchange. Youth and Sports State Minister Aminul Haque signed for Bangladesh. Osman Askin Bak signed for Turkey.
The agreement sets out structured cooperation on training, administration and competition planning. Both sides will exchange senior officials and technical experts to share methods on running and funding major sporting events. The deal also covers the use and development of sports infrastructure, with a focus on shared technical data and coaching resources.
The MoU includes plans for cooperation on financing models and management systems used in elite sport. Officials from both countries will study each other’s approaches to competition organisation and athlete development, with the aim of improving performance pathways.
The agreement also extends into inclusion policy. Both ministries agreed to share practices on disability sport programmes and access to facilities for athletes with impairments. The framework places emphasis on expanding participation and improving support structures.
The signing reflects a wider push by both nations to formalise international partnerships in sport. It also sets a pathway for exchange programmes that connect coaches, administrators and athletes across both systems, with the stated aim of raising competitive standards.
