Bangladesh will bowl first after Australia won the toss in the opening Test at Marrara Stadium in Darwin on Thursday.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto lost the toss, with Australia choosing to bat first in the first match of the two Test series.
Bangladesh have picked three fast bowlers and two specialist spin options for the match.
Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Hasan Mahmud form the pace attack. Ebadot has made the playing XI as Bangladesh look to challenge Australia with pace in Darwin.
Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will provide the spin options.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Shadman Islam will open the batting for Bangladesh. Mominul Haque will come in at number three, followed by captain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Litton Das has returned to the Bangladesh XI after recovering from injury. He will bat at number six and also keep wickets.
Soumya Sarkar has missed out on a place in the XI for the opening Test.
Australia have named a strong batting line up led by Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith. Pat Cummins will captain the hosts.
