Bangladesh Football Federation has formed a four-member committee to review around 300 applications for the men’s national team head coach role, with the panel set to prepare a shortlist this week before interviews take place. The process follows the expected departure of Javier Cabrera at the end of the month.
The committee will operate under Kamrul Hasan Hilton and includes Syed Hasan Kanan, Iqbal Hossain and Saiful Bari Titu. The panel will screen CVs and forward selected names to the National Teams Committee. That body will conduct interviews and move the process towards final appointment.
“A four-member special committee has been formed. We will review the coaches’ CVs within this week and prepare a shortlist, which will be submitted to the National Teams Committee. They will then conduct interviews with the selected candidates.” Hilton set a clear timeline and defined the decision pathway, which places responsibility for final selection on the next committee stage.
BFF had placed the head coach issue on the agenda of its executive committee meeting on Saturday but did not discuss it due to time constraints. This delay has shifted operational focus to the newly formed panel, which now controls the early phase of recruitment.
BFF is also working to appoint a goalkeeping coach and a youth team coach. These roles indicate a broader restructuring of the national setup alongside the senior team transition.
