A 26-year-old man named Biplob was hacked to death in Shahidnagar area of Lalbagh, Dhaka. The incident took place in Boubazar area of Shahidnagar at around 1pm.
Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Abdus Salim Mia of Lalbagh Police Station said upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene at around 2pm.
They found the man lying dead in a pool of blood with multiple sharp weapon injuries on various parts of his body.
According to SI Salim, Biplob resided at his aunt’s house in Lane 6, Shahidnagar.
His father passed away long ago, and he was currently unemployed. Unidentified miscreants hacked him to death in the afternoon and fled the scene; the matter is currently under police investigation.
The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Local sources revealed that Biplob previously ran a fish business at Lalbagh Kellar Bazar. Known locally as “Maucha Biplob,” he also worked as a police source.
