Bangladeshi football fans can now look forward to watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup through digital platforms, with two of the country’s leading telecom operators securing streaming rights for the tournament.
Banglalink has announced it has acquired the digital broadcasting rights for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. All matches will be streamed live through the company’s Toffee app, ensuring uninterrupted access for mobile and digital users. Viewing will require users to subscribe to specific internet packages, though the precise pricing and tier options have not yet been disclosed.
Grameenphone has also confirmed it has secured broadcasting rights, with all 104 matches to be streamed live on its content platform Bioscope Plus. Matches will additionally be available on the MyGP and Skitto apps. The operator said further details regarding subscriptions and viewing arrangements will be announced in due course.
Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer at Banglalink, said securing these rights will allow millions of football lovers across the country to enjoy the World Cup from anywhere, adding that the network’s digital infrastructure will ensure a high-quality streaming experience.
While digital streaming has been settled, broadcasting rights for terrestrial and cable television channels in Bangladesh remain unresolved. Viewers wishing to watch matches on traditional television will have to wait for further announcements.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off on 11 June across three host nations, the United States, Mexico and Canada, with the final scheduled for 19 July. The tournament expands to 48 competing nations for the first time, significantly increasing the number of matches.
