Bangladesh Football Federation held its grassroots football festival at the BFF Football Academy on Saturday, bringing together 120 young players to compete, enjoy and learn in age-group matches. Children split into three categories 8–10, 11–14 and 15–16 years old and played in a spirited atmosphere. The event mixed fun with competition and let coaches see future talent up close.
Organisers handed out medals to every participant at the end of the festival, rewarding effort over mere results. Radiant Pharmaceuticals chipped in gift boxes, adding to the smiles and sense of achievement. Parents, coaches and officials shared the sidelines, soaking up the buzz around grassroots football.
The festival drew some of the country’s top football figures from the national federation. Bangladesh Football Federation vice-president Nasser Shahrear Zahedee turned up, underscoring the BFF’s push on youth development. The presence of other BFF executives, including Kamrul Hasan Hilton and Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen, highlighted the federation’s broader commitment to growing the game at all levels.
The festival focused on encouraging a love of the game at the earliest age. Coaches watched how kids handled the ball under pressure and rewarded creativity on the pitch. Organisers plan to build on this energy with more grassroots events throughout the year.
