The three-day “2nd Bangladesh-China Green Textile Expo – BCGTX 2026” opened in Dhaka on Thursday. The event brought together textile manufacturers, technology firms, investors and business leaders from Bangladesh and China. Participants showcased sustainable and eco-friendly textile solutions.
The exhibition is being held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Kuril. It will continue until Friday. Organisers said visitors can enter the exhibition daily from 10am to 7pm.
Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir inaugurated the event as chief guest.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, Chinese Enterprise Association in Bangladesh President Han Kun, Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh Vice President Lisa Lou, BGMEA Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mohd Khorshed Alam, Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association President Md Abdul Hamid Pintu and Savor International Managing Director Md Faizul Alam attended the inauguration ceremony.
Savor International Limited organised the expo. The Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh co-organised the event.
The Embassy of China in Bangladesh supported the exhibition. BGMEA, BGBA and Junior Chamber International Bangladesh joined as knowledge partners.
Organisers said the exhibition focuses on green textile technologies, recycling solutions and sustainable manufacturing systems. Bangladesh’s apparel sector is facing growing pressure from global buyers to improve sustainability standards.
The event also features business-to-business meetings, seminars and panel discussions. Entrepreneurs and industry representatives from both countries joined the sessions.
