The OBHIZATRIK Foundation has started the second year of the Playing for Peace: FIFA Foundation Community Programme 2025 to 2026 with an opening ceremony and a friendly football match in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The event took place at the Gulshan Youth Club Football Turf.
OBHIZATRIK Foundation is the first organisation from Bangladesh to become an official partner of the FIFA Foundation Community Programme. The project uses football to help young people learn new skills, build confidence and grow in a safe environment.
The programme began in Bangladesh in 2025. It now supports about 1,000 children and teenagers from underprivileged families in Mirpur. The group includes 600 boys, 400 girls and 50 children with intellectual disabilities.
The project offers regular football coaching along with life skills lessons, education support, counselling and fun community activities. Organisers say the aim is to promote teamwork, leadership, respect and social inclusion through sport.
During its first year, the programme organised football training sessions, tournaments, workshops and activities for children. It also held special sessions for participants with intellectual disabilities.
The second year will bring more football training, life skills classes, education workshops, digital learning sessions, counselling and community events.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ahmed Imtiaz Jami said the programme is an important step in using football to support youth development and social inclusion in Bangladesh.
The day ended with a friendly match. The winning team lifted the trophy, while every player received a medal for taking part.
