UEFA have fined Atletico Madrid after finding fans guilty of racist and discriminatory behaviour during their 4-0 Champions League defeat to Arsenal last month. The club must pay 30,000 euros for the incident.
UEFA also added another fine. This time it was 10,000 euros. Some Atletico supporters threw objects at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium during the match.
The organisation placed a one-match ban on travelling fans. The ban will not take effect now. It will remain suspended for one year. If the club avoid further trouble, the punishment will not activate.
Atletico will play again in the Champions League on December 10. They face PSV Eindhoven. The Spanish side sit 12th in the group with nine points from five matches.
