The much-anticipated concert by Bangladeshi band Ashes, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, has been called off due to concerns over crowd management.
Vocalist Junaid Ivan confirmed the cancellation in a Facebook post on Friday night, stating that organisers feared they would be unable to manage the expected turnout at Dhanmondi Rabindra Sarovar, where the open-air concert was set to take place.
He noted that the venue’s limited capacity, combined with administrative concerns, including potential traffic disruption in the surrounding area, contributed to the decision.
Addressing fans, Ivan shared an emotional message, expressing regret over the missed opportunity and assuring that the band would meet audiences again at another venue in the future.
Ashes has been actively touring across Bangladesh throughout April, performing 12 shows in different parts of the country, including Dhaka. The band is also set to take the stage in European cities such as Rome, Venice and Paris in June.
