Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan may soon return to the director’s chair for a second season of The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, with Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment reportedly in talks about continuing the series, reports News 18.

Aryan made his directorial debut in 2025 with the seven-episode Netflix series, which offered a satirical and self-aware take on the glitzy yet chaotic world of Hindi cinema.

Starring Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal and Sahher Bambba, the series also featured several high-profile celebrity cameos.

It went on to become one of the year’s most talked-about streaming shows and entered Netflix’s global Top 10 rankings.

In an interview with NDTV, writer Bilal Siddiqi revealed that discussions about a second season are currently underway.

Siddiqi, who co-wrote the first season with Aryan Khan and Manav Chauhan, said, “I hope so too. Red Chillies and Netflix are talking, so there are things they want to speak about first. You know how it is. I hope so too. It’s very exciting. We pulled off a great season one and we will be happy to do it another time.”

While no official confirmation about season 2 has been announced, the ongoing discussions suggest that the series could return following its strong reception.

Siddiqi also reflected on his collaboration with Aryan, who made his directorial debut with the series.

He credited their shared taste in films and humour for making the creative partnership work.

According to the writer, the trio of Aryan, Manav and himself were often on the same page while developing the show.

Their longstanding friendship and years of conversations about storytelling also helped shape the series.

“I think he’s got his head on his shoulders. He is extremely aware of what is being said around and he’s got a great sense of humour. I think our sense of humour aligned,” Siddiqi said.

He added that the team rarely disagreed about the way they wanted to tell the story, which he believes contributed to the chemistry visible on screen.

The series also marked a notable comeback for Rajat Bedi, who returned to mainstream Hindi entertainment after several years away.

His prominent role added another familiar face to the ensemble cast.

If Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment reach an agreement, The Ba**ds of Bollywood season 2 could mark Aryan Khan’s next major project as a director.
