Argentina reached the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025 final with a 1-0 win over Colombia. The match stayed tight until the second half when a tactical change helped Argentina take the lead. Mateo Silvetti scored the only goal. Colombia, reduced to ten men, will now play for third place. Argentina will face Morocco in the final as they aim for a record seventh title.

The first half was cautious, with both teams unable to break the deadlock. After the break, Argentina coach Diego Placente switched from a five-man defense to a more attacking setup. The change shifted momentum in Argentina’s favor.

In the 55th minute, Argentina defender Tobias Ramirez cleared a dangerous shot from Colombia’s Emilio Aristizabal. Moments later, goalkeeper Santino Barbi saved a powerful header from Juan Arizala.

The winning goal came in the 72nd minute. Inter Miami forward Mateo Silvetti calmly scored. Colombia’s Jhon Renteria was sent off in the 79th minute, leaving his team with ten players.

Argentina will play Morocco in the final on Sunday, October 19. Colombia faces France for third place on Saturday.
