Indian singer, lyricist and composer Anupam Roy was due to perform in Dhaka on Friday, 26 June, but the concert has been postponed a day before the scheduled event, organisers confirmed on Thursday.

Yamaha Music Bangladesh told Prothom Alo that all necessary permissions had initially been obtained. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs later instructed the organisers to postpone the concert temporarily.

“We received all the required approvals. But today the Ministry of Home Affairs instructed us to postpone the concert for the time being,” Yamaha Music Bangladesh said. “We will announce a new date within 24 hours, otherwise we will publish the refund process. Anyone who wishes to receive a refund will be able to do so.”

Roy also confirmed the development, saying that organisers informed him of the postponement on Thursday morning.

The concert, titled ‘One True Sound’, was scheduled to take place at United Convention Centre in the capital on 26 June.

The event was being jointly organised by Yamaha Music Bangladesh and Triple Time Communications. The programme was also expected to feature performances by Bengal Symphony.
