Former law minister Anisul Haque and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s adviser Salman F Rahman have been sent back to jail after remand in trader Shaon murder case in Ashulia of Dhaka during the July Uprising.
Dhaka Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam Sohag ordered their detention on Saturday when they were produced before his court.
The investigating officer of the case appealed for the detention of the two accused on completion of their four-day remand.
Earlier on September 4, the same court granted the accused a four-day remand after hearing a seven-day remand application.
According to the case statement, the victim, Md Shahabul Islam Shaon used to trade vegetables in a van in Ashulia Police Station area of Dhaka.
He participated in the anti-discrimination movement on August 4 and was shot dead when he went near the RMST building in Ashulia by-pile crossing.
Md Touhidul Mia, elder brother of the victim, filed a case with Ashulia Police Station against 18 known people and 300/400 more unknown people.
On August 13 last year, police arrested Anisul and Salman F Rahman from Sadarghat area of the capital while they were fleeing by boat.
The next day, the court granted them a 10-day remand in a July murder case. Since then, they have been detained in jail.
