Alberta BNP organised an iftar gathering in Calgary, Canada, bringing together local leaders and members of the Bangladeshi community.
The event took place at Utsab Sweets and Restaurant, where leaders of Alberta BNP and community representatives attended the programme.
A prayer session was held before iftar, where special supplications were offered seeking eternal peace for former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
Prayers were also offered for current Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The prayer was conducted by Md Suja Uddin Suja.
The organisers said Mehdi Hasan Rony, Naim Ahmed, Sarkar Shahin, Mohammad Rashid Ripon and Alamgir Mridha assisted in arranging the event.
Guests attended the iftar gathering with enthusiasm, which organisers said reflected a message of communal harmony and unity among members of the Bangladeshi community in Alberta.
Organisers also said the event would help strengthen ties between Bangladesh and Canada by creating stronger connections between the cultures and communities of the two countries.
